Both Joey Dean Hale’s photos and prose appear in this issue. His images depict lonely parts of America’s great outdoors, with startling green and brown tones.

John P Brady’s photos of Rome, Paris and Dublin also decorate the lower sections of these pages. The cover image is of a presepe or crib which decorated a landmark bar in Sicily, Italy. More can be found on his Italy and Sicily blog.
